About the Series
Textiles are so interesting. They have very practical applications and serve primarily in service to our lives. And yet, the very nature of them is decorative, symbolic, historic. The weft and weave tell a story that resonates. I’m so interested in how my photographic work mirrors the crafting of a texture. This series looks at texture, dyes, lines, designs and refigures them like the string and yarn that is used to make the fabrics of our age and of those in the past.

Bursts of color from vintage kimono are reconfigured into a lush mountain landscape. Imaginary worlds made from the hopes and dreams of weavers of fabric and art.
